NOTES
Curio was commissioned by the Italian guitarist Sergio Sorrentino for the 20th International Guitar Festival of Lagonegro, Italy. The piece is based on the old Italian folk tune E sacci 'na canzunella, which I discovered in a publication that Sergio sent me called Canti Popolari della Basilicata. I was attracted to the somewhat bipolar modality of the song.
Curio is a variations form piece — it starts somewhat "pretty" and dark, and gradually gets stranger as it progresses.
